Jumbo Raisin Cookies - TastyPlanner.com

The best cookies ever.
Ingredients
1 cup water
2 cups raisins
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
Boil for 6 minutes (stove or microwave): water, raisins & baking soda Strain, saving liquid (should be about 1/2 cup left) Cream together: shortening, sugar, eggs & vanilla Sift together: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice
Add the dry ingredients alternately with the raisins and liquid to the creamed mixture.
Bake at 350 (possibly 325, depending on oven): 12 – 15 minutes for large cookies (8 per sheet) 10 – 12 minutes for small cookies (12 per sheet)
Yields 2 dozen large or 3 dozen small cookies (4 WW pts per small cookie)
