This is the best and easiest steamed rice recipe. If you follow the instructions you can’t go wrong. I picked this technique up whilst visiting Thailand.

Ingredients
1 cup long grain rice
1 1/2 cups water
Instructions
If rice needs washing, wash well then allow to drain in a colander.
Put rice into saucepan with the 1 1/2 cups water and bring to the boil. Lower heat to low and cook covered until water is absorbed and holes appear on surface of rice mass.
Remove from heat and serve.
The secret to success with this recipe is to ensure you lower the heat to the lowest setting without it going out. Also regularly check to make sure it has not boiled dry. Add just a little water if necessary to prevent burning.
To increase the content of rice, double the ingredients (2 cups long grain rice and 3 cups of water – this will feed 4-6 people).
