Braised Brussels Sprouts - TastyPlanner.com

Brussels sprouts rock because they work with just a little adornment or none at all, like Bo Diddley jamming alongside rolling piano riffs and shuffling drums, or just solo with a little sweet reverb on the Gretsch.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh, cleaned and halved brussels sprouts
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black mustard seed
1 tsp sea salt
Instructions
In a bowl, rub the Brussels sprouts in a small amount of olive oil and salt. Heat a pan with a little more olive oil and a small pat of butter. Lay the halves down flat side down over medium low heat and cover for 5 minutes. When they are a little browned, take the cover off, turn the heat up and caramelize the other sides. In the final minutes, toss in mustard seed and garlic powder. Plate and finish with grated cheese. Eat nice and hot!
