Broccoli Cheese Soup - TastyPlanner.com

A semi-homemade broccoli cheese soup recipe. This is great served in a bread bowl.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
4 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 lb grated cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2/3 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
Instructions
Melt butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Cook onion in butter until softened. Stir in broccoli and add chicken broth. Simmer until broccoli is tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Reduce heat and stir in cheese until melted. Add milk and minced garlic. Put the cornstarch in a small jar and add water, shake until dissolved. Stir mixture into soup. Stir frequently until soup is thick.

My husband always wants “protein” with every meal. I LOVE broccoli cheese soup. I’ll be trying this recipe this week and adding some smoked Turkey Kielbasa to it, to satisfy his craving and mine!
I made this and it tastes great! Great flaovr. Although next time I’ll cut down the amount of broth to 2 or three cans, as I’d like it a little thicker.
