Brown sugar and vanilla soy oatmeal - TastyPlanner.com

Quick and easy variation on a classic.
Ingredients
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup vanilla soy milk
2 tablespoons brown sugar (1/4 cup maple sugar can be substituted instead)
blueberries
bananas
(any other garnish you enjoy!)
Instructions
Bring soy milk to a boil, stirring with a wooden spoon. Add sugar and let it dissolve, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and add oatmeal, stirring well. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Liquid should be fully absorbed*. Serve in a bowl with blueberries and bananas (or your choice of garnish) on top.
*If you like a runnier oatmeal, you can increase the amount of soy milk.
