stuffed pasta shells that are used to create a fun, yummy set of “EYES”
Recipe Source: Pillsbury Halloween 2005
Ingredients
18 jumbo pasta shells
1 jar pasta sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 16oz. container of ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
18 frozen italian-style meatballs
4 to 6 pitted ripe olives sliced
Instructions
Heat oven to 350* spray bottom only of 13X9 baking dish with cooking spray. Cook pasta as directed on package and rinse with cool water. Set aside.
reserve 1 tablespoon pasta sauce:pour rest of the jar into baking dish. In a medium bowl combine ricotta, egg, mozzarella, parmesan, basil and garlic powder.
Fill each cooked shell with about 2 tablespoon of cheese mixture. Arrange shells in dish, cheese side up. Press one meatball in center of each shell to resemble and eyeball.
Bake 45 to 50 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Use reserve sauce for pupil of eyeball. Feel free to add other elements to finish the “monster’s” face.
