This is one of my top favorite foods. I make this at least once a week and everyone I make it for loves it. I am not a big meat eater so I have substituted the chicken with button mushrooms before. Another thing you can do which is delicious is add a can of sweet corn. It becomes a cross between chicken and dumplings and corn chowder. There are so many options to mix this meal up its really endless.

My daughter loves it as well so in my opinion its great for kids. Its also very filling. I have a friend who swears if you make it with 1 cup chardonnay and 1 less cup of broth. I have never tried it but am curious. Quick suggestions on the biscuits, I have made them from scratch and they are wonderful but if you use canned ones cut them in 4ths and flatten them a little. They cook down best this way.

I tried this recipe for the first time this week, and everyone in my family went crazy for it. I did add a can of veggies during the final simmering. We fought over the leftovers! This will be in frequent rotation in our house.

Excellent recipe!! The only change I made was that I added some veggies (corn, peas and carrots). Very tasty!
