These no-bake treats are easy for the kids to help with… and they sure are yummy!
2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup margarine
5 heaping teaspoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup shredded coconut
Bring all but last two ingredients to a boil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Remove from heat and stir-in rolled oats and coconut. Allow to cool and solidify slightly (about 15 minutes). Roll into balls (or scoop with ice cream scoop) and drop onto parchment paper to cool. Serve when cool and firm.
