Ingredients
1 yellow onion
1 Cup of Buttermilk
2 Cups all-purpose flour
vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. Slice the onion in to rings, as thinly as possible
2. Combine onions with the buttermilk in a medium bowl and stir gently to seperate the rings. Stand for 8 minutes and discard the buttermilk.
3. Place flour in a plastic bag. Add the onion rings a few at a time, coating well. Shake off excess flour.
4. Deep-fry the onions in heated vegetable oil for 3 minutes and remove to paper towels to drain in batches. Repeat batches as many times as needed.
