Crunchy Granola - TastyPlanner.com

We eat this every morning, which means I make it a few times a week. It’s very easy and VERY delicious…so many different combinations to try.
Ingredients
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup nuts (use one type or a combination of almonds, walnuts, pecans, coconut, etc...all sliced or chopped)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.
Combine brown sugar (or white sugar and molasses) and water in a glass 8-cup measuring cup or bowl.
Place in microwave on high for 2 1/2 minutes and cook until sugar is completely dissolved.
Remove from microwave and add vanilla extract and salt.
Add oatmeal and nuts and stir until thoroughly mixed.
Spread the granola onto a cookie sheet (if you have a cookie sheet baking stone, all the better) and bake for 1 hour until golden and crunchy. You can turn it once after 30 minutes, but it’s not totally necessary.
When granola has cooled completely, store in an airtight container.
