Serve on Pumpernickel Bread with an aquavit! Skål!
Do not use pickled herring in sour cream for this recipe.

Ingredients
2 teaspoons of heavy cream or milk
1 tablespoon of curry powder
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 Granny Smith apple or pear, peeled and chopped in to 1/4 inch-cubes
1 1/2 cups (1/2 inch slices) pickled herring
3 eggs, hard-cooked for 12 minutes and diced with an egg slicer
Pumpernickel Bread
Instructions
1. Combine the cream and curry powder in a bowl and mix well.
2. Stir in mayonnaise.
3. Add the apple, herring and eggs and mix gently.
4. Marinate, covered in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to 2 weeks.
