I loved these as a kid.
Ingredients
4 pints (2 lbs) beans, long tender beans
4 1/2 C hot water
4 c white vinegar
1/2 c canning salt
8-10 cloves garlic
8-10 heads of dill
Instructions
Wash and drain beans, but do not snip ends.
For brine, shake together hot water, vinegar, and canning salt to dissolve salt.
Pack beans tightly in pint or quart jars. Use 1 clove garlic and 1 head of dill in each jar. Pour brine over beans, leaving 1/2" head space.
Put in water bath for 10 minutes. Store at least 2 weeks prior to use to develop flavour.
