EASY Tempura Onion Rings and other goodies - TastyPlanner.com

Love Tempura? Here’s an easy recipe that will compliment any BBQ, lunch, dinner, or snack-time appetite! Try this recipe for your next family gathering, cookout, tailgate, or neighborhood party!
Ingredients
2 large whole yellow onions sliced into rings
2 cups light cooking oil
3 eggs
1/4 cup 2% milk or skim
1 1/2 cups Tempura powder (flour)
2 cups Japanese bread crumbs (panko)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat oil in an appropriate pot for deep frying. While oil is getting hot beat eggs and milk together and set aside. In two other bowls put bread crumbs and tempura powder and stir into the powder your salt and pepper.
From left to right… take sliced onions and coat each ring with tempura powder, then dip into the egg mixture, and then coat with bread crumbs. Once coated put rings into the hot oil.
Fry the rings until golden brown. Once golden remove from oil and place on a paper towel. Repeat the process above until all your rings are done. The final product is a light golden brown CRISPY, CRISPY, and TRULY TASTY non-greasy delightful o-ring! YUMMY!!!
Please note that this recipe works also for carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and other firm veggies. Enjoy!
