Garlic Sesame Sauteed Kale - TastyPlanner.com
Chef: Brainbag
A delicious and quick side dish for any meal. Kale is awesome and it will make you happy to eat it.
Be sure to remove any of the thick stems from the Kale. It’s edible but tastes funky, and not in the good way.
Preferably substitute sunflower/safflower oil for the olive oil if you have it on hand.
Original recipe credit goes to Bobby Flay and the Food Network. They used vegetable stock and added vinegar, which covered up the great flavor of the kale. Boo!
Ingredients
1 bunch young kale, stems removed and leaves coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely sliced
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and cook until soft, but not colored.
Raise heat to high, add the stock and kale and toss to combine.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove cover, add the sesame seeds.
Continue stirring until all of the liquid has evaporated.
Season with salt to taste.
