Candied Pumpkin
Ingredients
1 – Pumpkin
3 ½ - Cups Sugar
1 – Cup Corn Syrup – White
¼ - Tsp salt
4 – Cups Chopped Walnuts
4 – TBS Butter
Instructions
1) Wash Pumpkin, then peal.
2) Slice into wedges, cut cross wise in pieces similar to French fries, but thicker.
3) Boil pumpkin until translucent, this takes just a few minutes.
4) Let stand in colander until well drained.
5) Place in baking pan, 1 layer thick and cover with sugar and corn syrup. Then sprinkle with salt.
6) Bake at 450 for 15 minutes and then reduce to 350.
7) When pumpkin has absorbed the sugar, check every 30 minutes, add butter and nuts by mixing the pumpkin. Then cook another 30 minutes.
