Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup - TastyPlanner.com
Grilled cheese and tomato soup was a staple in my household growing up and still is! Sometimes I add thinly sliced tomato and basil leaves to my sandwich before grilling for added tastiness.
For extra creamy soup replace the water with milk or top the bowl of soup with some shredded cheddar cheese or sour cream.
4 Slices of bread
2 tbsp butter
2 slices of american cheese
1 can condensed tomato soup
1 can of water
Place cheese between 2 slices of bread. Heat 1 tablespoon of the butter in a skillet or grill and when melted add the sandwich. Gently press down with a spatula once or twice during the grilling. When one side is golden, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, turn the sandwich over, and brown.
Meanwhile, heat soup and water in a saucepan until desired warm and steamy.
