Delicious and Easy. Great for a cold afternoon!
Recipe Source: My Grandmother
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef (turkey is also good for a healthier alternative)
2 tbs. oil or fat
2 medium onions
2 Cloves of Garlic
2-3 tbs. of flour/Wondra or gravy mix
1 15oz. can of diced potatoes (or equivalent fresh)
4 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of frozen peas
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Brown 1 onion, 1 clove of garlic and beef in some oil/fat. When brown, remove with a slotted spoon into another pot/slow cooker. Get the fat hot (add more if needed) sprinkle flour over fat-keep stirring until golden brown, then add water. Keep stirring until gravy thickens and add more water if necessary. Return beef and onions to gravy. Add cubed potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and remaining onions and garlic to gravy. Simmer about 20 minutes then add peas. Let simmer until potatoes are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste.
**If you want to use a slow cooker, just start putting everything into the slow cooker once it’s cooked and let it simmer on low for about 3-4 hours.
