This hash brown casserole is super easy and has a salty/sweet taste.
Recipe Source: online ... bits and pieces ...
Ingredients
32 ounces frozen hash browns, thawed
1/2 cups onions, chopped
3/4 ounces low-fat cream of mushroom soup (1 can)
1/3 cups honey
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 pint fat-free sour cream
1 cups fat-free cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 cups reduced fat margarine, melted
1 cup corn flakes (sometimes I fudge on this part ... just enough to cover the casserole)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Prepare a 9 × 13-inch pan with cooking spray; set aside.
Combine hash browns, onions, soup, honey, salt, black pepper, sour cream, and cheese in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.
Combine melted margarine and corn flakes in a small bowl. Stir together. Top evenly over casserole. Bake for 45 minutes.

This was like… barely edible. A lot of the proportions seemed off, for starters, and then it was just like… ew. It was creamy and mushy and sicky sweet in a way potatoes should never be. We ate the thing because our food budget is tapped out for the month, but it was pretty gross. I pretty much dumped ridiculous amounts of hot pepper on it in order to be able to eat it at all. :( It was a good idea, it just didn’t pan out at all. If you decide to try it, definitely use less honey and less sour cream. Or maybe no honey and no sour cream. It would be better if it were crispy and spicy. Sorry, author. :(
