Homemade Barbecue Sauce - TastyPlanner.com

Ingredients
250ml (1 cup) passata (tomato pasta sauce)
125ml (1/2 cup) treacle
80ml (1/3 cup) maple syrup
60ml (1/4 cup) tomato sauce
60ml (1/4 cup) white wine vinegar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp sweet or smoked paprika
Instructions
Place the all the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 12 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Taste and season with salt and pepper if desired. Set aside for 20 minutes to cool slightly.
Pour the sauce into sterilized*, airtight bottles. Place in the fridge until required.
*I found that a jar straight out of the burning hot dry-cycle of the dishwasher is about as sterile as I can get.
