Farina Pan Sweets
Ingredients
1 lb – 11 ½ oz) of Farina
1 ½ - Cup Sugar
1 ¾ - Stick of Butter
1 – Cup Canned Milk
½ tsp salt
1 – Small Yeast
2 – Cups of cracked nuts
3 – Cups sugar
½ - Cup Karo white syrup
Instructions
1) Dissolve yeast in ½ cup warm water.
2) Melt butter in a large enough pot to hold all ingredients.
3) Add milk and dissolved yeast.
4) Add: sugar, salt and Farina, mix well.
5) Batter should not be too thick, add water so the batter is similar to pancake batter.
6) Butter a 10 × 15 × 1 inch pan.
7) Pour batter into pan and shake to level out batter.
8) Place about nuts evenly over top.
9) Cover with another inverted pan and set in warm place for about 45 minutes.
10) Bake in oven at 350 until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
Note: While baking make a simple syrup.
11) Mix 3 cups sugar, 3 cups water with Karo and a dash of salt.
12) Cook until thin syrup is formed must not be thick.
13) As soon as pan is removed from oven, cut into diamond shapes.
14) Pour syrup over pan covering the pan evenly.
15) Pour slowly getting all the corners and use all the syrup.
