A marinated rare steak served on a bun with mayonnaise and spicy mustard
Ingredients
1.5 teaspoons salt
1 teasoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons minced onion
.5 teaspoon dry mustard
.25 teaspoon ground ginger
.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
.25 cup lemon juice
.5 cup olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
2 pounds flank steak
Mustard and mayonnaise to serve
4 Rolls
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except steak, mustard, mayonnaise and rolls, blending well. Place steak in a glass or enamel baking dish. Cover with marinade mixture and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight, turning steak occasionally.
Preheat broiler. Remove steak from marinade and broil about 5" from heat for 5 to 6 minutes on each side. Meat should be rare. Cut steak diagonally across the grain in thin slices. Serve with buns, mustard, and mayonnaise.
To serve as an appetizer, this creates about 36 small buns.
