Note: pre-freeze banana to make smoothie icy cold and extra delicious. This thick, tropical smoothie is a refreshing drink you can have as a digestion-enhancing appetizer 15 to 30 minutes before a protein-rich meal. Drink it before dinner and it may also aid weight loss because flaxseed oil triggers the satiety response (when your body tells you you are full, so that you don’t overeat).

Ingredients
1 cup chopped, ripe papaya
1 cup chopped, frozen banana (peel and chop before freezing)
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
2 tbsp soy lecithin granules (from health food shops and supermarkets)
1 cup pure apple juice (without sugar or preservatives)
1 lime, juiced
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend on high until smooth. Add a small amount of water or extra juice for a thinner consistency. Serve and drink immediately.
