Seared Venison with Mushroom and Onion Red Wine Reduction - TastyPlanner.com
If you don’t care for the “gamey” taste of Venison this recipe makes it a lot more palette friendly.
Serve with Glazed Sweet Potatoes
Venison Steak - salt and pepper both sides
Mushrooms - Thinly Sliced
Onions - Thinly Sliced
Dried Cranberries (reconstituted in warm water)-chopped
1)And oil to pan on stove top and sear venison. Cook to doneness that you desire. Remove from pan and cover to stay warm.
2)Add to same pan mushrooms and onions. Sauté until mushrooms are cooked through.
3)Add 5-6 shakes of whorshire to pan. Add red wine to pan about twice around the pan.Stir in chopped cranberries.
4)Cook down until the liquid starts to reduce and thicken. Serve over venison steaks or slice steaks thin and add back to pan, toss to coat.
5)Salt and pepper to taste. Whorshire is salty and has a peppery back ground on its own so yo may not need any additional seasonings.
