Spicy drumstick recipe - TastyPlanner.com
Chicken drumstick preparations are a classic American finger food that are enjoyed by many, but are more often than not prepared with very unhealthy ingredients. Mixtures of sugary sauces loaded with some kind of vegetable seed oil and loads of preservatives have become the norm for commercially prepared drumsticks. It gets even worse when the the drumsticks are deep-fried in a vegetable oil that’s been heated to high temperatures time and time again. Spicy and finger licking chicken drumsticks don’t have to be unhealthy though and the following recipe is a very simple and effective way to prepare them.

3 tbsp coconut oil, clarified butter or another paleo fat, melted;
3 cloves garlic, minced;
2 tsp chilli powder;
1 tsp garlic powder;
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste;
10 chicken drumsticks;
InstructionsPreheat your oven to 375 F. In a large bowl, combine the garlic, chilli powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper as well as the cooking fat. Dump in the chicken and mix well to ensure all the meat is evenly coated with the seasonings. Place the chicken drumsticks on a large baking sheet with space in between each to prevent overlap. Cook for about 1 hour, until the chicken is well cooked, turning the pieces once during the cooking process.
And there you have it! The Paleo twist on a popular American finger food. Serve that with a simple side, like some pesto mashed potatoes for example, and you’ve got yourself a quick and delicious meal.
