Steak Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette - TastyPlanner.com

Nice healthy flavorful salad for spring or summer, with a burst of color. Prep time includes marinating. Cook time can depend on what cut of meat you use.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs London broil(or a more tender cut, like skirt steak)
1 lb fresh strawberries(set aside 5 large)
1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1/4 Cup turbinado or sucanat
sea salt and pepper to taste
4 tbs balsamic vinegar
1 Tbs rich extra virgin olive oil
2 heads butter lettuce
5 Tbs roasted almonds(optional)
Instructions
Put steak in glass baking pan, drizzle with 2 tbs. oil and 1/4 cup
. vinegar. Sprinkle evenly with Turbinado or sucanat. Marinate in fridge for at least 2 hrs or over night.
Heat grill to about 250 degrees, and start steak cooking. cook very slow until desired doneness.
Meanwhile cut up your heads of lettuce. chop you strawberries into bite sized chunks. and add to lettuce. add almonds.
Take your 5 reserved strawberries and put them in a small dish. Add remaining vinegar and oil, used hand blender and blend until well incorporated. refrigerate until ready to use.
when meat is done, slice into thin strips, place on top of salad, then drizzle with the dressing.
serve.
