Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
Blend the first three ingredients together. Beat in the egg and milk. Stir in dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Roll out dough with rolling pin to about 1/4? thickness. Use different cookie cutters and cut out shapes. Decorate with colored sugars and other candies. Place cut dough shapes unto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (205 degrees Celsius) for 8-10 minutes. Once the cookies have cooled, you can also decorate with colored frosting.
